lightbulb What it's for
A Combo-Category is a “supercategory” that holds several regular categories under a single menu tile. It lets you collapse a long menu into a few clean, tappable groups — e.g. a “Main Courses” tile that opens to reveal Burger Plates, Fish Dishes, Poultry and Veggie Dishes. Fewer top-level tiles, faster browsing, no endless scroll.
settings Set it up (Admin)
- 1In the admin app, open the Categories section and open (or create) a category.
- 2Expand the Combo-Category panel and switch it to “Set as Combo-Category” — a COMBO badge now marks the tile.
- 3In the Organizer that appears (“Organize Combo Items”), drag the categories you want inside and arrange their order.
- 4That order is exactly the order guests will see inside the combo.
smartphone How guests use it (Client)
- 1On the menu, the Combo-Category appears as one tile with a + icon.
- 2Tapping it slides up a “Choose a sub-category” panel listing the categories inside.
- 3The guest picks a sub-category and drills straight into its items.
info Limits & good to know
- chevron_rightIt groups categories, not items — items still belong to their sub-categories.
- chevron_rightA category placed in a combo is removed from the top level (no double-listing), so plan the hierarchy so nothing important gets buried.
- chevron_rightAccess is two taps (combo → sub-category) in exchange for a much shorter top-level menu.
- chevron_rightThe Organizer is desktop-only, and its order drives the client display order.
- chevron_rightDifferent from a Meal Combo — that's a priced bundle item; a Combo-Category is free menu grouping.
