lightbulb What it's for
Hide Item instantly pulls a dish off the client menu without deleting it — for when something runs out or shouldn’t be sold right now — and brings it back with one tap. It prevents false orders while keeping all the item’s setup intact. (For stock that should auto-close at a count, use the Item Limiter instead.)
settings Set it up (Admin)
- 1Fast path: on the Quick Menu Updates screen, tap “Hide Item” and confirm “Hide this item?”.
- 2Editor path: in the item’s “Item Visibility” panel, flip the toggle to “Item is set as Archived”.
- 3Hidden items show a red eye-off badge and red background in the Quick Menu list.
- 4Un-hide anytime by toggling the same control back.
smartphone How guests use it (Client)
- 1A hidden item simply doesn’t appear anywhere in the menu — it’s filtered out, not greyed.
- 2(By contrast, a limiter-exhausted item stays visible but greyed with a “SOLD OUT” overlay.)
- 3Guests never see that an item was hidden.
info Limits & good to know
- chevron_rightTwo different tools: Hide/Archive removes the item completely; the Item Limiter keeps it visible but blocks ordering at zero.
- chevron_rightHiding is all-menus — there’s no per-menu hide (menu membership controls that separately).
- chevron_rightHidden items aren’t even sent to the guest’s device.
- chevron_rightIt’s fully reversible — the item and all its options are untouched.
