Zero out a single item as a goodwill gesture. Choosing “On the House” shows the guest a warm surprise popup (with a heart animation) instead of a dry refund notice, and drops that item’s price to zero on the bill.
settings Set it up (Admin)
- 1Expand the line item on the order card and tap “Refund item”.
- 2In the “Item Refund” dialog choose “Refund as OTH (On-The-House)”.
- 3Enter the admin password and confirm.
- 4The item shows as Complimentary and counts as 0; “Revert Refund” undoes it.
point_of_sale How staff use it (POS)
- 1The guest gets a “Surprise! — This item is ‘On The House’” popup with a heart animation.
- 2The item shows as 0 in their order summary and the total drops.
info Limits & good to know
- chevron_rightShares the “Item Refund” dialog with a Regular Refund (see Mark Item Refunded).
